Faire Le Saut Cycling Tours (FLS): Terms and Conditions
1. Cancellation of Bookings
If you need to cancel a confirmed booking, for whatever reason, the cancellation will be effected upon receipt of written notification. The following cancellation charges will BE APPLIED:
- More than 4 months before start date of tour – deposit forfeited only
- Less than 4 months – Total tour cost forfeited
2. Alterations of Bookings by FLS
FLS reserves the right to make any changes to advertised or featured accommodation should the need arise. Furthermore, in the event of any significant changes being made to the content or terms of your tour as published or agreed, we will endeavour to notify you as soon as possible. If the changes are unpalatable, you may transfer to another FLS tour, without charge, availability permitting. You may also cancel your booking with a full refund as full and final settlement.
3. Alterations of Bookings by Yourself
Should you require changing your booking after the booking has been confirmed, FLS will endeavour to accommodate your changes, after being informed in writing. However, should the alterations be impossible to arrange then we reserve the right to apply the cancellation set out in clause 1, if the alteration is requested within 4 months of commencement of the tour.
A booking may be transferred to an individual not listed on the original booking form, and subject to the approval of FLS, although a small administration fee will be levied and a new booking form will need to be completed and signed.
If, after the holiday commences, you wish to make changes to your cycle tour in any way, including changes to itinerary, accommodation, duration of stay etc, we cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or additional expense incurred and no refund will be made.
4. Paying for Your Trip
Bookings may be made (and confirmed) by a signed booking form received by FLS and a payment by credit card or a direct transfer in Euros to a bank account nominated by FLS. Your place will be reserved upon confirmation that funds have cleared into the FLS account.
A non-refundable (after confirmation) deposit of 25% of the total price for each person travelling must then be received within 10 days of the booking. A confirmation along with an invoice will then be issued 1 month before the payment deadline. All balances are payable 4 months prior to the commencement of your tour.
If a booking is made within 8 weeks of the commencement of the tour then full payment is required for the total cost and reservation will be secured upon receipt of this. In all cases a completed booking form is required.
5. Cancellation of Bookings By FLS
If we find it necessary to cancel your booking we will make every effort to notify you at least 5 weeks prior to the start date of the tour and place you on a suitable and acceptable alternative tour. If the alternative is unpalatable, we will refund all moneys paid as full and final settlement.
We reserve the right to cancel, without refund or making of alternative arrangements, any booking where you fail to make payment or, by your behaviour make it necessary to terminate your tour for the safety and enjoyment of the other participants. We shall accept no liability for any costs incurred by such an individual.
6. Accommodation
The cost of each tour is based on double or twin-bed rooms (in other words, two people sharing). The request for single rooms will, unfortunately, incur a single room supplement charge. Should you wish, we will attempt to pair same sex single travellers in twin bed rooms; although we cannot guarantee that a suitable sharer will be available on the same tour.
All accommodation is chosen for its quality and availability, although we do reserve the right to change from that featured in the itinerary should it be necessary to do so and for the tour to continue.
7. Your State of Health and Travel Insurance
This is an activity-based tour, and at times rigorous activity and all bookings are taken on the strict understanding and assumption that all persons are in good health and are aware of any condition that may affect their health during the tour.
If your medical condition is in doubt then you must consult your Doctor or specialist prior to booking, and send copies of any medical certificates to FLS upon signing your booking form. It is critical that you possess suitable and adequate travel insurance, which we recommend provides you with comprehensive cover for cycling in France and to include medical cover.A valid travel insurance document should be scanned, or faxed to FLS upon full payment of your tour (4 months prior to your tour). Your FLS guide will require these details on the first day of the tour.
8. Passports
A full and valid passport is required for entry into Switzerland, France and Italy, and where appropriate a valid visitor’s Visa. There are no recommended or compulsory health formalities.
9. Currency
The cost of each Tour is billed and paid in Euros and therefore there should be no currency fluctuations.
10. Liability
Please note that FLS cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to your luggage or personal property, nor for any other loss, damage, inconvenience, delay, illness, fatal or other injury suffered by you as a result of making a reservation (and actually participating in a tour) with FLS, unless it can be shown that FLS is in breach of its contractual and legal duty.
In the event of you accepting any payment from FLS, where it involves responsibility of a third party, this will be made on condition that you assign your rights, title and interest to FLS to claim in your stead, and fully cooperate if FLS wishes to enforce those rights.
11. Complaints
All complaints should be brought to the attention of the FLS hostess or host as soon as it arises and we will endeavour to resolve it immediately. Failure to notify your hostess or host at the time, and therefore failing to provide FLS with an opportunity to rectify the cause of the complaint, may result in your loss of any legal rights in respect to the particular issue.
If the issue is not resolved, then the complaint should be made in writing to FLS at the company address within 28 days of the end of your tour, while simultaneously e-mailing a copy to your host and hostess.
12. Governing Law
This contract is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
